We left Fort Sumner and headed back to Tucumcari to continue on Rt 66. After we reached Santa Rosa, we took the pre 1937 Route north to Las Vegas New Mexico. The scenery was great heading into the mountains and the town of Las Vegas was really nice. Definitely nothing like Las Vegas Nevada. Then Rt 66 heads towards Santa Fe. We had already been to Pecos National Park in 2016 but stopped again. I needed to renew my annual park pass but they had the park open but not the visitor center.
We had our first night of camping in Santa Fe. We had stayed at this campground in 2016. It was a short day of 225 miles riding so we could do laundry and wash the bikes. We enjoyed some great food at Harry’s Roadhouse too.
