Day 16 Flagstaff to Kingman AZ

First Stop was Parks AZ. Rt 66 originally ran behind this building and their front door was in the back. When Rt 66 moved to the front of the building they changed the back door to the front door.

They also are the Parks Post Office, UPS and Fed Ex Store. I wanted to mail post cards from here and she didn’t know how to do post card postage. No one has asked for that so I had to put regular stamps on the post cards. 😊

We loved the town of Williams.

This was also a speakeasy during prohibition and has a trapdoor that hid the booze.

I took so many pictures in Williams. They had the neatest stores and eating establishments. One of my favorite towns on Rt 66.
This is located in Ash Fork AZ. You can’t see from this image but Elvis is driving the car.

Seligman AZ is another town that we spent some time in and really enjoyed. Angel Delgadillo is the main person that his stories inspired the producers of the “Cars” movies. He has two businesses here. We hoped to talk to him but he is elderly and his family is keeping him away due to Covid 19. There were quite a few motorcycles in town. Actually one guy on a motorcycle dropped his bike and he fell and the bike fell on him. Wade ran over and helped get his bike up. He was with a group of friends who also helped. His BMW bike had a broken light and not sure what else. Hoping he is ok and not too sore tonight.
We arrived at Radiator Springs but Lightning was not around 😂

The Hackberry General Store has some cool antiques. However they used to have a red 56 Corvette in the store but the new owners said the previous owner kept the car 😒. It was soooo hot by the time we reached Hackberry so we each drank a quart of water while we sat in the rocking chairs out front. Then we headed on to Kingman AZ and stopped for the day because of the heat.

There was a great Mexican restaurant within sight of the hotel so we enjoyed a great dinner and some good margaritas.
