Day 6 and 7 Missouri

Day 6- We decided to stay at our Missouri house another night because it rained most of the day.
Day 7- We were on the road by 6 am and headed back towards St Louis to get back on Rt 66 near Eureka. The morning ride was very nice. It was 70 degrees and sunny. The weather forecast was 5% chance of rain all day. After we got on Rt 66 the wind really picked up.  Our first stop was Meramec Caverns.

It’s reported that Jesse James hid in the caverns.

We stopped for lunch in Cuba MO at Missouri Hick BBQ. It was amazing the amount of food they give you. It is definitely a one meal day.

We had plenty of time to eat our food because the weather forecast was incorrect as usual. We ended up having to put on rain gear for several hours as the rain would come and go.

There are 12 amazing murals in Cuba MO. Here are two of them.

We saw some neat sites on our journey today. I love the old signs and some of the old hotels are really cool architecture. We hoped to camp tonight for the first time because the weather was perfect tent weather. But we couldn’t find a suitable campground so we ended up at the Wyndham in Springfield.
